Congestion is when a shared network resource (ISP backhaul, Wi-Fi channel, mobile tower) runs out of capacity. Speed drops, latency rises, packet loss appears — but only during peak periods.

Indian ISPs commonly congest 8-11 PM in urban areas. Wi-Fi channels congest when neighbours use 2.4 GHz. Mobile towers congest at events / rush hour.

Why this matters
